Me & That Man – Shakespeare Theater

Nergal is the frontman of Behemot, surely most well-known polish band abroad. With Me & That Man, Nergal, in collaboration with John Porter – a veteran of the Polish rock scene – slide into country, blues and folk…

We have waited a long time for this day. Because, finally, the fruit of our two-year journey will see the light of day (or night). We are stepping out of the comfort zone to redefine who we are as artists. The album “Songs of Love and Death“, of which we are extremely proud, tells about this path and not only! Me And That Man is a new hand, an exciting new chapter in my life and Mr. Porter! Come to our church! Just remember this church is black!

Concert was exceptional, in a great looking location. The Shakespeare Theater in Gdansk. The two support bands were Fertile Hump & Sasha Boole.

If you know Nergal only as the frontman of Behemot, you have to forget about it. New band, new musical style, new look and different way of entertaining the crowd. The concert started with a western track (if I remember well, surely of Sergio Leone’s one), the bands being hidden by a large white light curtain. It’s only during their opening song “My Church is Back” that the curtains fell. Nice opening, mysterious and exciting.

Nergal and Porter were accompanied by experienced metal musicians from Tri-City – Łukasz Kumański (drums) and Matteo Bassoli (bass guitar).

Their album “Songs of Love and Death“, released six months before the concert, is a combination of wild rock energy with dark country and blues with Nick Cave’s influences (it’s really obvious in some of their songs).
