Lao Che – Stary Maneż

It would be difficult to explain the music of Lao Che to foreigners who never heard them. Their music is a crossover of various style such as rock, electro, jazz, ska, ambient & folk. They are always looking to create new sounds and new form of art.

With 7 members, their musical style is rich and complex. On stage, we can appreciate their dedication & enthusiasm to give the public the best musical & visual experience possible, and yesterday, they easily managed to please a sold out Stary Maneż.

I expected less quiet songs, I think that after 20 years of activity, they really could have made a very lively concert but may be it’s because I’m a metal-kind-of-person. With songs like “Hydropiekłowstąpienie“, “Kapitan Polska“, “Govindam” or “Wojenka“, that were very catchy, with great electro sounds, a sax player that can’t stay on one place, and a guy that move-and-gesticulate-more-than-he-plays… It was a pleasure to listen to them live, and to watch them. People were singing most of the best well-known titles.

After their concert, there was no doubt that Lao Che prepares them with thoroughness. The settings, the visual background effects, the way they behave on stage. There is a real harmonization between the sound and the visuals.
